This plugin is WordPress shell for javascript FloatBox library by Byron McGregor. Floatbox is a javascript library for displaying windowed content over top of web pages. It can be considered a ‘lightbox clone’ (Lightview, Lightbox, Shadowbox, Fancybox, Thickbox, etc.) with great image gallery capabilities, but also extends that model with support for all types of content and strong programmability for ‘smart’, interactive content. Floatbox is highly customizable, easy to deploy, and very robust and reliable across all modern browsers.

How to install
- Upload plugin folder to WordPress /wp-content/plugins folder
- Activate plugin
- Go to FloatBox Installation page and install FloatBox library.
- Enter License Key on plugin settings page. Floatbox is protected by copyright and is released under the Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 3.0 Unported License. Without a license key present, the software will periodically display a registration reminder during use.
- Customise plugin to your taste. All FloatBox parameters are represented in the plugin.
How to use
To insert FloatBox object to your post’s content use plugin shortcodes or plugin insertion dialog.

Shortcodes:
- source – media source (image, video or another site)
- caption – caption of media
- group – if you want to place several galleries on one page, set group value for each group of media
For predefined objects:
[svg id=1 only="1,2,5"]
[svg id=1 exclude="1,2,5" group="anyName"]
[svg item=1]
- id – ID of predefined gallery. Gallery mode.
- only – show only specified items from predefined gallery. Gallery mode.
- exclude – do not show specified items. Gallery mode.
- group – group name. Several galleries with same group name will be shown as one gallery in FloatBox window. Gallery mode.
- item – show single item by item ID. Item mode.
Insertion Dialogs:
Basic Settings
- Source – media source (image, video or another site). URL only.
- Caption – caption of media.
- Content – Text, URL of thumbnail or YouTube ID.
- Content Type – sets type of content.
Extended Settings
- Group – if you want to place several galleries on one page, set group value for each group of media.
Predefined Galleries
- ID – ID of gallery (Gallery Mode) or single item (Item Mode)
- Gallery Content Type – ID modes selector
- Items – items IDs for show only or exclude from show
- Only or Exclude Items – only-exclude modes selector

I unzipped the file in contents/plugins but it does not show up in my Plugs-ins.

Great plugin.. I just updated and it didn’t work so i then noticed I needed to update the library, which i did … BUT what is with the galleries

I am not sure what I have to do here.. please tolerate my ignorance I may find what to do just after submitting this post … BUT just in case I do not figure it out could you please advise on what I can put in the before and after codes??

These codes set the alignment of the gallery into a state center.

Hi again, I have 2 problems I have found. The first is kind of a big deal (and may not be your plugin or just something I am missing) but when I have more than 1 post on a page that has images that can be floated, it groups them ALL together, instead of by post. So when someone clicks 1 image in the first post, even if there are no other images in that post it will still show 1-10 and let you cycle through all the images on the entire front page of my site. Is there a way to restrict it to only an individual post?
The second issue is pretty minor, but still bugs me a bit. When you go into “New Gallery” settings, you can not click the down arrow next to it and retract/close the options menu. You can in every other settings menu, just not the new gallery one.
Can you help me out with this? Thanks!
1. If you use ‘any object’ shortcodes, you may set different galleries names for each post. In case you use ‘Predefined Galleries’, galleries names are set by plugin automatically and randomly.
2. It’s very bad. It means that there is javascript error. I try to fix it.
Is there any way you can set this to work more like Floatbox Plus? I didn’t have to do anything special to get it to group images per post, but with this plugin I still cannot figure out how, it always considers everything on my homepage to be 1 group. I like this plugin better, but it isn’t working how I need it too.
